Another Robin's Nest

Another robin decided that the same birds nest was pretty great. She added a few more sticks and twigs and layed her eggs.

It is in a really hard place to get a picture.

I thought there were only 3 eggs, but then I got this shot.

And here's momma watching what I am doing.

It will be fun to watch these birdies hatch!

Fly Away!

Our babies birds are gone.

We took pictures of them yesterday morning for Zach's sharing day and then that afternoon they were gone. They looked like they were too big for their nest. Oh and the 3rd baby was just fine!

What a fun experience that was!

Have a happy life!!

The Robin's Nest

Babies!!
I think there are 3, but one may have passed....

See the far left beak laying on the nest??

Then Mommy Robin came back and was yelling at me to get away from her babies!

Then she flew away and came back with some more food. What a good Mommy!

Then in the afternoon I went and checked on them again.

The kids think it is so cool to have their own baby birds. :-)

Historic Ice Craziness

Thursday, 1.19.12
This is what we woke up to Thursday morning.
This was at 8am this morning in our side yard. All the branches are splitting due to the weight of the ice on the trees.

Then here are some pictures at 10am.

The trees continue to split.

The damage to the trees is crazy to me. We needed to thin & prune the trees, but never thought it would happen this way. They are beautiful pink flowering plum trees.

Then our power went out at 12pm. Bummer!

There are so many amazing views at the ocean.

It is hard not to continually click away.

I had a bit of an obsession trying to get some pictures of the pelicans that live around this beach. I don't remember seeing them last time. I could never get a really good close up.
