10k #2/3

COMPLETED!
On my 39th Birthday!

(the gal in the white behind me is the speed walker)

If you don't remember, Darin and I are doing a 3 race series on the same course to try and improve our time.
Here is the info from the 1st race.

There were probably about half as many people as there was in January. It may have been due to the frigid air, wind and rain. There were a few places on the course where you were fighting the wind to move forward. But once you were running, it wasn't really cold. There were a couple of people who fell due to ice being on the trail. Darin saw a guy coming in that had blood running down his face from a fall. They warned about ice, but I guess a few people got caught off guard. You didn't know that running was a hazardous sport!

I'm SO excited to report that I improved my time by 4 MINUTES!!!
And yes, I did beat the speed walker this time! :-)

Darin improved his time by 8 minutes!
He's a stud!

Our official times:
Heather                Darin
1hr 04min            47:29 min
10:22 pace            7:40 pace
Women's Place          Men's Place
26/33                    21/33

I'm very pleased with these results!
Though I have no idea how I'm going to beat this time for the last race. Eeek!!

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Nothing sweeter.

Elissa has been looking forward to this night for several weeks.
Her special night with Daddy.

She was excited to show off how pretty she was all dressed up. :-)

Daddy brought her a corsage to wear.

I asked if we could all go to dinner together before the dance and she was adamant that it just be her and Dad. So they went there way and Zach and I went ours. Well we ended up at the same restaurant. And still Elissa wouldn't let us sit together. We had to get different tables. :-)

She felt like a princess all night long.

Today we woke up to a couple of inches and a 2hr late start to school.

So there was time for a little fun!

Well, for the girls. They weren't interested in playing with Zach. :-(
Poor guy. I felt so bad for him.

It was a weird weather day yesterday.
Today it was just plain COLD.
I pray tomorrow we don't wake up to ice and another late start.

Preschool Happy Birthday!

A Spiderific Birthday!

Happy 4th Birthday Zach!!
Thanks Amy for the idea on the invite. :-)

Ever since Elissa had her birthday at the YMCA last May, Zach has said that he was going to have a Y birthday too. Love it! One of the easiest and cheapest birthday parties. He started with having a Scooby-Doo party, but it ended up being a Spiderman party that he wanted to change to a Batman party at the last minute. I told him it was too late. :-)

Here is just a taste of the fun we had!
Cake compliments of Grandma.

Playing in Adventure Zone

Cake and Ice Cream!

He was a little shy while we were singing to him.

He blew out all the candles at once!

Bring on the presents!

Great Aunt Joyce got Zach a cute shirt and pants. When he pulled out the pants he said, "I already have pants." It was funny. Apparently you don't need more then 1 pair of pants. :-)

And finally, and to the great joy of the kids - swimming!

It was a fun party. I think it was everything that Zach was hoping for. :-)

Today, on his official birthday, we met Nana at Red Robin for dinner.
Again, a little shy when being sung to.

He has one more birthday celebration at Preschool tomorrow. :-)

I can't believe our baby is FOUR years old.

Woo Hoo!!

So excited for this package to finally show up on my door step!!
It was suppose to come on Valentine's Day, but UPS wasn't showing me any love. :0(

Just opening to see this pretty wrapping was exciting. :-)
Nice dust cover that zips up (if you ever put it away).

But not as exciting as this!
An Epiphanie Clover camera and laptop bag.

I originally purchased the "Lola", but returned it when I figured out that the "Clover" would also hold a laptop. When we travel I always bring my laptop with me, so this is perfect for what I need. I loved the Lola (a little narrow at the top), but super cute. So excited to have my Clover though! :-)

Valentine's Fun!

The kids and I had fun on Friday making Valentine Candy Bars for each of their classmates.
I think they turned out super cute!

Then we decided to celebrate Valentine's on Sunday.
I love that Elissa can read her own cards now, so Darin and I both gave her a card.
It was fun to watch her read them.

Then Grandpa Frink and Grandma Myrna came over to be with the kids while Darin and I went downtown to have dinner and watch a movie.

Oh yeah and I was a bit spoiled with this pretty ring. :-)
It's a plumeria flower. We ordered it when we were in Hawaii and it just came.
It is my Valentine, birthday and Mother's Day all rolled into one.
Thank you Honey!!

On Valentine's Day I had these crazy boys all day. :-)
We were going stir crazy in the house so we went outside to blow bubbles and run around in the rain.
There are just days that you have to do this.

Our final Valentine's fun was Zach's preschool party.
Not sure what Zach is doing here, but I love how Brady is just watching him.
Teacher Jo was showing the kids how to say "I love you" in sign language and Zach is quick to point out that this is how Spiderman shoots his webs. Crack-me-up!
Crafts, crafts, crafts

We enjoyed our Valentine's!
