A Little Catch-Up....

Life has been so crazy lately that I haven't been able to keep up with my blog. Way back when I wanted to do another post of Summer, but that never happened. Now we are definitely into Fall and I have still not posted any soccer pictures. We did play this Fall and just had our last games today (hooray!).

So here is a quick review of what has been happening lately.

Elissa got to play on an all girls soccer team this year.
Look at those girls go!

She is not going to let the ball get by!

Zach was on a 3-4 year old team. He really had a fun time this year. He did an awesome job as goalie by stepping out and proactively blocking the ball. He didn't get to play in his last game due to a sprained or broken finger (not sure yet).

Zach had a temperature from Wednesday, 10/19 - Saturday, 10/22
Life stopped for Mommy during these days.

Monday, October 24th I got to spend the day with Kirstin and her new precious baby, Braxton. I'll have a full blog on him later (and her shower), but here is a peak at him.

While I was holding Braxton, Papa was taking Zach to his field trip to the Pumpkin Patch.
As you can see, Zach was not much into taking pictures or being cooperative.
But it looks like the boys had a fun time!

On Wednesday, 10/26, Elissa and I checked into Good Samaritan Hospital at 1pm for her to do a 24hr Video EEG study. We were having this done to determine if the new medication she started this Summer was working and stopping all of the little 1-4 second seizures she was having. She was having trouble being unusually disruptive at the beginning of school, so I was really worried that there was more going on then we were aware of. She has settled into school, so it still may have been side effects from the new medicine. I'm anxious to get the results, but unfortunately it will not be until 12/6.

By the time they got her all hooked up, it was 3pm when the test officially started. Elissa had to stay in the hospital bed the whole time, except to use the bathroom. She had to stay in front of the video recorder. It was really challenging for her, but she was a trooper! We watched TV, movies, played cards, colored, did puzzles and painted our nails. :-)

Dad came in the evening to bring me dinner and to break up the time. When Darin was leaving Elissa said, "It was really nice to have Dad here. That was fun." :-)
The hard part for me was that I needed to stay up the whole time to watch her for any incidents that I thought were abnormal. Yes, that means staying up the whole 24 hrs! Fortunately, my Mom came in at 4am and relieved me so I could go get a few hours of sleep. I went home and got 3 hrs of sleep, showered and was back in around 9:30am. I was exhausted.
We had a beautiful view!

Papa came by to provide some further distraction and amusement too!

We left the hospital on Thursday just after 4pm. We were ready to go!

Friday, 10/28, was no less an exciting day.

Zach and I went to the YMCA in the morning and while he was playing around he some how broke his finger. I'm still waiting to hear what the x-rays showed. I'm pretty sure it is broke. Today I should get a call for the Doctor and see if he has to have a cast or just keep it in a splint.

Then that evening Elissa had her first dance recital!
I'll post a full blog with video later, but here is a sneak peak.

Finally Saturday was Chrissy's big wedding day! It was a beautiful day and she was radiant! Amy took all the pictures. It was a fun afternoon!

After the wedding we went and picked up Elissa at a birthday party. It was at A Simple Wish where they make a little girl's dream come true of being a princess. They also do Spa parties for little girls. It was pretty cool.

I'm going to make a strong effort for November to be much slower! :-)

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Saturday, October 15th

We didn't get to the pumpkin patch last year, so Zach doesn't really remember going before. Both the kids had a really fun time. Maris Farms has added a lot in the last couple of years.

Rubber Duck races!
They have a fun kids play area.

Yummy caramel kettle corn!

The big bouncy pillow was their favorite.

They had a lot of fun racing each other too. Elissa is very competitive.

A little corn shooting.

Oh yeah....and there are pumpkins. :-)
But not before the maze! We went through the 15 minute maze and Elissa was not happy with us that we didn't do the 45 minute one. Maybe next year......

And now the pumpkins!

It really was a fun afternoon.

Field Trip to the Farm

Monday, October 3rd

Zach's first field trip this year was to Terry's Berries.

Zach was on this trip with Elissa back in 2008 when he was 1 1/2 years old.
Do you think I bought his coat a little big??! :-)

Here is now at 4 1/2 years old with his buddy Christian.

They had a fun time digging up potatoes.

And picking raspberries.

Then they fed the chickens which were in really bad shape. They are "becoming teenagers" so all their bottom feather are molting. Not so pleasant looking.

On to pulling up carrots and then feeding turkeys!
They were gobbling for the bread we were feeding them. Fatten up turkeys!! :-)
The "farmer" showing us around was quite a character. She was really good with the kids.

They had a very fun outing!
