Her Bigger Girl Room

I don't know when you become a tween.....10??....but it feels like Elissa is already there. Or she really, really wants to be there. :-)

She had definite ideas on how she wanted her room to look.We had several arguments and time outs and pleading with her to just trust me. I understand. It will come out the way you want. :-)

BEFORE:
That room seems so boring and bland now that she has her new vibrant room.

AFTER:
Thank you Grandma Myrna and Erin for painting the room and doing the AWESOME stripes!
Elissa picked out the bedding and decided she wanted her room the turquoise color from her bedding. I think she picked a fantastic color. She did the wall stickers around the PEACE word plaque. One of her favorite things in the room is the lava lamp. She thinks it is really super cool!

She also put up the wall stickers above her cubes. Memo boards are going to go up over her desk and mirrored flowers.

There are going to be vinyl stickers above her hat & scarf rack that says "Be your own kind of beautiful".

She thinks that she is so grown up with this little seating area. I think it came out really well, if I do say so myself. :-)

This was originally going to be a one and a half sleeper chair so that she would have a comfy place to read and a bed for when friends stayed the night. But then she made me mad and was ungrateful, so I took that away. Honestly, I think this is way more appropriate and her style. And when her friends come over to spend the night, we can just fold up the chairs and put down the aerobed. Much more practical. :-)

I couldn't believe I found these perfect colored color block curtains on Amazon for cheap. Love that!

I think I can safely say that she loves it! :-)

I do! LOL!

She admitted that I knew what she wanted. :-)

I Miss This Little Girl

Let's Get Down and Groovy

Sunday, 5/27

And Roller Blade!

Elissa's friend, Alyssa, had a roller skating party a couple of months back and it was so fun that we decided to do the same thing. :-)

Elissa is really into sparkly disco hats and peace signs, so we decided to make it a disco roller skating party.

Since Kirstin and Charis were staying with us, we decided to have some girly time before her birthday party.

When we go Elissa usually sits in the kids chair that has a DVD, but she always wants to feel the back massager and I tell her that she really doesn't because it hurts. So today they sat in regular chairs and were leaning back to feel the massager. She figured out what I meant. :-)
Pretty toes!!

After a quick lunch, it was time for her party!

It took Elissa about 2 seconds to get her roller blades on and get out on the dance floor. :-)

It didn't take long for  Charis to get comfortable on her skates. They made Elissa take off her hat. :(

Grandma even got out for a trip around. :-)

Uncle Chad & Chase getting their skatin' on!

The boys - Christian & Zach - tried on their skates and then decided that it wasn't for them. I was really surprised because Zach loved ice skating with the walker. He just didn't feel comfortable on the skates with the walker. He tried a couple of times.

Jaice and Cole

I got out there. It is a fun workout! I'll have to take Elissa more often.

Playing with their laser fingers.

She likes to go fast!

Grandpa got out there too.

Cole was a total crack up. By the end he was doing tricks with his walker!

After a hour and a half of skating, then it was time for pizza, pop & cake!
A glow party!

Elissa had two friends come.
Alyssa and Elissa
Olivia and Elissa

Then friends that are pretty much family.

And our fun cousins!
Chase wanted to be represented by light. :-)
But I got a cute pic of him. :-)

I could post so many more pictures, but I'll stop there. Elissa had a really fun time.

As we were leaving, there was an older gal on the Tiffany's speed skate team that was telling Elissa about it and wanting her to come try it out. Elissa was very excited and flattered. We might try this out. She really loves to rollerblade and seems to be pretty good at it and is excited about it.

She passed out once she got in the truck.
Love it!

Happy 8th Birthday sweet girl!!
