Summer Fun - Part 2

Wednesday, 7-29-09
Today it is getting over 100 degrees (craziness!) so Cole and Chase came out with Gram (as Zach says) and Papa to hang out at the lake for the morning. The kids had another really great time playing around. We got to the lake at 1oam and left at 1pm and the kids were not ready to go. It was getting too hot, so we had to get out of the sun.

Cole is helping Zach swim as Chase and Papa watch.
Cole and Lissy spent all day coming in and out of the water together. They had so much fun!
Zach and Chase playing in the sand - working out who is going to play with the tractor and for how long. :0) There was also a boat they borrowed from another beach goer that they both wanted at the same time. They are two peas in a pod. :0)
These are Chase's "big arms".
Chase had a "skateboard" that he was trying to paddle with and then Zach jumped in and wouldn't listen to Chase telling him to get off. They are so funny together.
The last adventure to the middle of the swim area. They kept on pushing their boundaries further and further. I took them out to the rope and they thought that was very cool.
Papa taking a breather. The kids eating lunch and Chase just totally cracking up about something. It was hilarious!A perfect ending to a great morning.

Saturday, 7-25-09
While Mommy was off for the weekend with Auntie Kirstin, Daddy took the kids to the Museum of Flight. He said they had a really great time. The kids were constantly pointing and wanting to see the next thing. It looks like they had a lot of fun!

Zach is going to be a MJ impersonator when he grows up. We lost his other garden glove, so he'll come to me and ask me to put just the one on. Cracks me up!

Summer Fun - Part 1

I don't have time to blog all the little things we are doing this summer, so I'm just going to roll them into several blogs. Sorry each is so long. I have a terrible time editing down pictures. :0)

Wednesday, 7-22-09
I am not potty training yet, but he tells me he has to go usually right after he has went in his pull up. It is a start! :0)
I love having swim lessons at our community pool all summer long. 9am every morning (M-Th) we are at the pool for a 1/2 hr. I try to get our little neighbor girl to watch Zach as often as possible so I actually get time to talk to the other moms. Otherwise Zach is circling the pool wanting to go in.
Grandma met us at the pool and then we were at the lake by 11am. Kirstin came down with Payton and Charis. Angie (neighborhood friend) came down with her 3 and then another neighborhood friend, Vickie, came with her 2 boys. It was one of the best days we have ever had. The kids played terrific together. We ended up being at the lake until 6:30pm. Zach had no nap, but he did great. We even went to Red Robin with all of them, except Vickie, afterwards. It was a very long, FUN day.
Zach got his tube stuck around him. hee, hee
Kennedy and Charis had fun in the sand.
Here is Zach trying to follow after Charis, Payton, Elissa and Cole (friend not cousin) who had a tube chain going.
These $2 tubes from Walmart have been the best things. The kids love them.
Keegan, Elissa, Cole, Charis and Payton
Zach wanted to get out of his wet clothes each time he got out of the water so I ran out of swim diapers. :0)
Elissa had the last package of cookies, so they were scheming how they were going to dole them out. Poor Brady was left out.

My little Bam-Bam.
Such sweet kids!
Zach's first swim in Lake Tapps.Elissa is saving Zach. He got turned upside down and couldn't right himself.I could not believe he climbed to the top and then was yelling for help. He is growing up too fast!
Friday, 7-17-09
Zach comes downstairs and tells me that he is going to work like Daddy. :0)
Elissa having fun at VBS. Zach really wanted to join in too.
**Elissa just saw this picture and she says, "Hey, that is the boy I kissed." And I said, what? You kissed this boy? Where? Why? She said, "He's soooo cute! I kissed him on the cheek." Um, I'm very, very scared at this point. I guess his name is Zach too. I'm going to try and track him down at church this Sunday. We did have a talk that we DO NOT kiss anyone but family.**

Pacific Days Balloon Glow

Saturday, 7-11-09
We thought the kids would really enjoy watching some hot air balloons light up and go in the air. There was hardly anyone there, so we weren't sure what that meant....just not advertised much?? :0) We put our lawn chairs down and the sun went down and these huge prehistoric mosquitoes started swarming us. I'm not kidding, these things were crazy big. One family had brought some repellent so we were all begging to use some, though it really had no effect on them.

We stayed long enough to get a few photos. It only ended up being one balloon and they didn't go up in the air, which the kids were bummed about. I debate on whether all the mosquito bites I'm scratching right now was worth it

Nana met us there too.
On the way home, Zach was playing with his new Buzz Lightyear - the laser is so cool (and noisy).
And Elissa was playing with Jessie - sweet girl.

What do I know of Holy?

Tuesday, 7-14-09

One of my new favorite artists (new to me) is Addison Road. I love the song, "What do I know about Holy?" and I've listened to it many times. This morning I was really listening to the words as I was going to pick up Elissa from VBS and I was just overcome by my complete arrogance. I identified with the words and thoughts she was singing. I could see where I had made God small and accessible and thought, "Do I really fear Him?"

Seeing my arrogance has been a big theme in my life the last couple of weeks. It is humbling. God is showing me how I desperately need Him and to know Him in order to live in humility. I use to think that being humble was some how equated to being weak and lowly. Someone who was quiet and never spoke their mind and who let people walk all over them. That is such a wrong interpretation of humility.

God is showing me how cool it can be to walk humbly with Him. It is seeking His will daily and thinking of others as better than myself. It is being teachable and moldable into the person He wants me to be, for His glory. Who doesn't want that?!

Songs really hit my heart a lot. If I think about it, it is because they are honest and real feelings of the song writer that I can identify with. That is how I want to be - honest and real - so that my friends and family can really see me and the person that God is working out in me.

There are two scriptures that have impacted me lately.
Philippians 2:1-4
If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

James 1:22-25
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.

Just needed to share,
Heather
