Museum + Fountain = Super Fun Day!

Friday, 2-19-10

For the last day of our Winter break, Renee and I took the kids to the Seattle Children's Museum. The kids always love coming here. It changes slightly - the 2-3 times we go a year - that the kids find it new each time. They had a really great time!

The art center was our favorite place. I would love to have a spot to make one for the kids at home.

Do you see the water coming??

These two are probably my favorite pictures of the museum. :-)

We packed our lunch expecting to just eat in the center house, but it was such a BEAUTIFUL day that we took our lunches out to the fountain. Wow, was it WARM out! Kids were running through the fountain and getting soaked and our kids took off as much as we would let them. :-) You would never think that it was February in the NW. It is amazing how much sun and warmth lift your spirits.
(my camera battery died, so these are camera phone pictures)

Ahhhh Summer, please come fast!

Happy 3rd Birthday Zach!!

Sunday, 2-21-10

I can't believe my baby boy is THREE today! What a big boy he is!

All day long we have been telling him "Happy Birthday" and grandparents have been calling to tell him "Happy Birthday" and friends have been saying "Happy Birthday" and I love his response......
"Happy Birthday to you too." :-)

I got him just a few little things to open on his birthday. His main gift is going to Great Wolf Lodge next Sunday for a couple of days, which he doesn't know yet. Woo Hoo!!

Can you see that he is wanting to dive in, but has to wait for Mommy to take a picture. :-)
He was SO cute this morning. He would play a couple of minutes and then come tell Mommy and Daddy "Thank you for my gifts" and then he would play some more and then come say thank you again. Oh, I just loved it! I am so grateful when they are grateful.

After church we went to Red Robin for lunch. It is always fun for the kids when they get sang too. :-)

More fun to come this Saturday the 27th a the Super Jump Zone!

It's Cousins Day!

Monday, 2-15-10

We decided to spend President's Day with my nephews Cole and Chase. The kids were VERY excited!

We did have to have a discussion about what we call our cousin Cole. Amazingly enough we have a friend also named Cole and he has the same middle name, Robert, as our cousin. And another crazy cowinkydink they were both born in December 2003. The kids started calling them Cole and Cole Robert, but I had no idea which one they were talking about or we would say Angie's Cole (our friend). So I was trying to teach them Cole Boyd or Cousin Cole. :-) We had just had our friend Cole over the other day, so it was on their mind.

It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, so we took advantage of that and stopped at a park on the way to our house.

Cole started the traverse of the benches and of course the others followed suit (in chronological order no less).

Doesn't Chase have the cutest little face?!

Why do they always find sticks??

Elissa was so excited to sit in the back with Cole.
She tells me that she wants to stay back there now. :-)

After lunch, the fun didn't stop.

I think Cole is a ninja here.....I'm scared! :-)
Then Chase is showing his moves.
And Elissa is an alien.....I see it.
Zach is just following them all around trying to get a hold of a sword.

They could have played hours longer. It was a really fun day!

Signs of.....

SPRING (Yeah!!) and ALLERGIES (Boo!!)

Graffiti

Sunday, 2-14-10

There was a tunnel at Dash Point State Park that had some graffiti on the inside and it made an interesting back drop from some pictures. Here are the very novice pictures I was able to capture.

Water, Water and More Water

Sunday, 2-14-10

We got to church and were met with this huge puddle.....or small lake. :-)
I successfully kept the kids out of it on the way into church. It was very difficult. Zach was standing on the edge and had a very mischievous look on his face with a grin that said, "I'm going to jump." BUT on the way out I turned around and here was my son wading through it. He just couldn't stand it any more. A puddle this big was meant to be played in! :-)

Oh well....I had already planned for us to go to the beach and I had extra clothes and shoes, so he just started the water fun a little early. LOL!

So we headed out to find a beach to go beach combing and to get some energy out. We ended up at Dash Point State Park. I was prepared for rain, but it was a nice afternoon.

We found several crabs and sand dollars and lots of broken shells

Even some walking sticks. :-)

There were LOTS of great photo opps!

We had a really fun afternoon exploring!

We had no rain until I was literally opening the door to get into the car. What a blessing!!

Then in true Seattle style, it poured all the way home.

Now we are bundled up at home with the fire on watching a movie.

We are so blessed to live in the Northwest with all this beautiful green and lush nature around us!

The rain is worth it. :-)
(for a time....)
