Elissa - 5 3/4 Years Old

Oh, my baby girl.....she is very independent, but also wants to help everyone she meets. She is a great combination of girly girl and tom boy. She really wants to learn karate as well as be a free style dancer. :-) She gets a very serious look on her face when she starts dancing. It totally cracks me up.
She loves Kindergarten some days and then other days she says that it is "totally boring". But the days she is not in school she is bored. She needs that social interaction. I think one of her favorite parts of the day is riding the bus back and forth to school. Her morning commute is about15 minutes and in the afternoon it is 40 minutes. There is already "bus drama" with who will sit with her or not.
She is more into stuffed animal/dolls then barbies and hard dolls. I think she likes soft, cushy things. She is always playing mommy and daddy with Zach. It takes her 10minutes or so (feels like an hr) to get her babies put to bed at night.
It is really important for her to have individual time with her family. It is a big deal when she gets to spend time with us or one of the grandparents by herself without Zach. She just went to her first "drop off" birthday party and she thought she was so grown up. :-)
She loves, loves, loves crafts. She is always drawing and pasting and taping something. It is hard to keep up with all of her creations. She also loves to help me cook/bake.
She is a really good big sister. She plays well with Zach (most of the time) and is always helping him and teaching him. I can often find her on all fours on the ground being Zach's step stool so he can reach something or other. She loves to make him laugh when he is in a grumpy mood. But she also uses him to get what she wants. She'll bring something up to me - like going to McDonalds - and she knows that Zach will then chime in and make a big fuss to get what he wants. She gets in trouble for this.
Elissa is no longer my little baby girl that I dress up the way I want. She makes her own decisions and color combination choices and is very excited when I let her dress "rockin". I don't know where this fascination came from, but now it has become her little rebellion point (I'm going to dress this way when I get older). I don't know where she gets this. :-)
This is our baby girl today.
