Happy New Years Weekend

Another fabulous weekend with Kirstin and Kirk!

Even though we were in Hawaii when we usually do our Seattle weekend (which Kirstin was a little bitter about), we still got a chance to have our weekend. I personally think New Years was a better weekend, but we'll see what we decide on next year. :-)

It was kind of funny.....we told K&K about Post Alley and how fun it is and The Pink Door has great food......there was pretty much no one there. Though Darin did run into someone he use to work with at Intel. I called The Pink Door and they were totally booked.....so where is everyone?? We were down there a little early, 6ish. So we just had our own fun. :-)

On Post Alley

In an Irish pub on Post Alley.

We had no plans for the evening. So we ended up walking around a little more and decided to go to our traditional dinner place, Benihana's. We didn't want to fight the crowds at the Space Needle. We had a great dinner, though very stuffed, and turned in early. I know, a little lame. We needed to get our rest for a full day of shopping. :-)

Darin and I were downtown the night the Macy's star was lit and this was the last night it glowed.

We woke up to this beautiful view!

We got a deal in the mail for a free night at the Grand Hyatt, so we stayed there. We probably shouldn't have because now we don't want to stay anywhere else. They are VERY nice rooms (huge bathroom with separate bath & shower) and a really great location for shopping. Also the St. Louis Rams were staying there, so big men were everywhere. :-)

Kirstin and I spent the day shopping.

The guys spent the day watching football at the Tapp House.

We checked in with them and lunch (and dropped off our bags) and then headed back out.

That night we ate dinner at Pasta Fresca.
It is a place that Kirstin had heard about. The chef comes out and talks with you and asks you your food likes and dislikes and then prepares a meal for you. You have no idea what you are getting.
It is pretty fun. They just start bringing food out. They don't even really want to tell you what it is. They just set it down in front of you and want you to enjoy. The chef even chooses your beverage for the evening. It was really good food, lots of it and a very decent price.

I would recommend for anyone to try it and to be specific on what you don't like.

Kirstin and I have said this to each other many times, "we are so blessed to have husbands that like each other". I'm not sure what we would have done if we couldn't spend time like this together, as couples. I can't imagine.

I love Seattle weekends!!

Love the "beautiful view" picture. It's so good...must've been taken with that fancy new SLR.
