ORGANIZATION!!!

You know those remodel projects you always talk about doing around the house and then never do them or do them right before you sell your house??

Well, we actually did one that I have been wanting to do for several years now. Necessity for finding a good place for all our shoes and coats instead of being in a pile by the sliding glass door finally got Darin and I on the same page. :-)

I can't believe that I didn't take pictures before we did the remodel, but it didn't happen. Picture a small laundry room with cheap white cabinets and an ugly vinyl floor.

Now see this!!

LOVE IT!!
There is so much room for everything and it is so pretty!

We had a guy come out and demo everything, patch, paint and put in a new floor. It is still vinyl, but so much prettier then the old stuff. And now the laundry room is painted the same colors as our family room.

Then California Closets came out and installed all of the beautiful shelving.

On the LEFT side I was going to put rows of shoes, but then I found these Rubbermaid bins that fit perfectly and then they can slide out and all the shoes are neatly tucked inside. Each person has their own shelf and then a shared "boot shelf" and then an overflow shelf above. We like our shoes. :-)

I love that the kids can now hang their own jackets, in theory, and rain boots and hats & scarves can be below the coats.

Darin has a landing place for his stuff when he comes home, just above the kids coats.

And we can have our seasonal coats easily accessible to us instead of hanging on the back of the laundry room door.

On the RIGHT side I chose not to put doors, even though it is not always pretty for the laundry stuff. The doors hardly got shut on our last cabinets and it just seems to hold more if there are no doors to get in the way.

It is so functional and beautiful!

It makes doing laundry and putting away shoes much more enjoyable. :-)

I want to find some cute art work to go in the space, but this is what I have for now.
I was going for "pops" of red.

Thank you Honey for this beautiful space!!
