We hadn't yet had the Hawaiian treat - malasadas - so Darin & I took the drive over to Tex Drive-In (closer to the Hilo side - about 30 min) in the morning and brought back two dozen.
It was raining as soon as we hit the mountain area of Waimea.
They now have a viewing of them making them and then here is the delicious product.
Today we got one dozen plain and dozen variety of strawberry, bavarian custard & chocolate custard filled. Yum-O!!
We all over indulged today on them. :-)
After we let our sugar coma settle down, we decided to go to Puako for a little bit and see the sea turtles. Usually we stay in Puako and see them every day, but not this time.
We went on a great day to see the locals surfing!
Grandpa and Elissa found a cave.
Elissa & Zach had fun taking their own pictures.
Beauty all around.
We went to a different area in Puako and finally got to see the sea turtles and snorkel with them.
The winds are crazy today.
They got pretty far out.
Zach wasn't really into snorkeling and climbing on the rocks. He fell a few times.
It was a great time!
It was only Noon when we got back to the condo. The wind was crazy today and the kids were not wanting to go down to the beach, so we had another condo pool day. Grandma & Grandpa went into town for awhile and the rest of us just hung out.
I did get a run in and got to wear my new Big Island Running shirt - Run Aloha!
