Today was Elissa's first field trip in Kindergarten and I chaperoned. We went to see "If you give a mouse a cookie" at the
Seattle Children's Theatre. It was a really fun play with just these two guys the whole time, or should I say a boy and a mouse. :-) The kids and adults loved it. We were all laughing out loud. You can't imagine the things that happen when you give a mouse a cookie!
We started our adventure with a bus ride from school to Seattle. Mrs. Stober had a fun game for us to play on the bus. She gave us a list of items to find on our way. This kept the kids busy - but certainly NOT quiet. hee, hee
My most memorable part of the bus ride was looking above the driver (Kevin) and seeing in really big letters - BODILY FLUID CLEAN UP - or something like that. I should have gotten a picture of it. :-) It just really struck me as gross and brought all sorts of gross things to mind.
My little buddies for the day were Elissa and Ceceilia.
Sweet girls!

Here we are walking to the theatre. A nice rainy day in Seattle.

After the play we went to the Center House to eat our lunches. By the time lunch was over the sun was peeking out, so we took the kids outside to run around until we had to go get on the bus again. I did "sneek" over and grab a Starbucks to enjoy. :-)

We meant to go play in the fountain this summer, but never got around to it. We are definitely going to have to do this next summer. Elissa wanted to go down there today. Instead the kids just ran the circle again and again and again - falling on their bottoms several times. The rain made it quite slippery.....

Elissa and Morgan - I love this picture!

We go to church with Morgan's family and they are becoming good friends of ours. It is so fun that Elissa and Morgan get to be in class together. Morgan's Dad, Perry, came on the trip too. So brave being the only guy and he happened to get one of the shyer girls that didn't really want to be "buddies" with a man. Poor guy...but he did great. :-)
Of course, right when it was time to go back to the bus Elissa decides she has to go to the bathroom (though we had went after lunch). It is a long bus ride so I can't make her wait. I hand off Ceceilia and Sadie that I was walking with and go back to the Center House with Elissa. Then we run to the bus so we don't make everyone late. Stressful! I hate being late and especially having a bunch of people waiting for us.......and then sweaty to boot! It wasn't the best ride home. Elissa was tired and cranky. She ended up sitting next to me and falling asleep for most of the ride back.
It was a fun adventure.....the first of MANY!
