First Day of Kindergarten
Dieringer Heights Elementary
Mrs. Stober's Class
Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday

Last night we started a new school night routine. It started at 7pm with cleaning up her room, then bath/PJ/teeth and pick out her clothes for the first day of school! Then we made sure we had everything in her backpack and put it by the door and headed off to bed to read before sleep. She was very excited because I got her her own alarm clock that was set for 7am. It projects the time on the ceiling, which she thought was so cool. :-) I told her that when her alarm went off, that she needed to get up and put her clothes on and come down for breakfast.
She was up at 6:30am - excited for the day! :-) We had a great morning. Daddy called and wished her a good day and so did Grandma & Papa and Nana came over to see her off. The hour and a half went fast and it was time for my baby girl to go catch the bus....eeekkk!

Bus #1 is coming!

The classic 1st day of school picture.
I cried a bit while she was getting on, but I was able to hold it together.

After Elissa got on the bus, Nana stayed with Zach and I went to the school to wait for Elissa. She was surprised to see me. Emily, our little neighbor girl, sat with her. She was excited to be at school.

Her friend, Cole, rides the same bus too. He is in Pre-1st, but they'll be in the same class next year.

I asked Elissa to show me where her class was (I wanted to see if she could get from the bus to her class) and she took me right there.

Cole went one way and we went the other.

It was hard to let her do her own thing, but here she is finding her cubby and putting her backpack and coat away. I think it really helped that her Preschool last year was the next classroom down and was laid out the same. She felt comfortable with the school and room.

Getting down to business!

Mrs. Stober asked who had ridden the bus to school and Elissa raised her hand enthusiastically. :-)

Bye Mom! (finally!)

I can't wait for her to get home and hear about her first full day of school!
