Banks Lake - Steamboat Rock
8-24 thru 8-28-08
On our way to go camping for a few days. Zach was happy to sit in the back and flirt with Chrissy on the way. He loved her hair! :0)
Just after we got to our campsite, there was a boat fire in the lake. That was wild.
These 2 boys were the ones driving the boat that is on fire and hear is their dad coming to look at the damage. They ended up getting it out of the water a few days later. Nice!
The kids loved spending time in the boat -
it kept them contained for a few moments. :0)

The next day I apparently didn't take any pictures, but it was eventful. Zach was riding his trike and some how fell forward and knocked his eye. Chrissy and I were down at the beach trying to have some quiet time and here comes Darin with Zach saying that we should probably take him to the doctor. He had a cut on his eye lid and we weren't sure if it hit his eye. So Chrissy stays with Elissa who is sleeping and Darin and I take Zach to Grand Coulee to the emergency room. The same hospital that I was born at......full circle moment.... He was just fine.
The next morning they are climbing in the trees.
Early the next morning Darin got up with the kids.
I'm sleeping during this beautiful sunrise. :0)

We had a lot of fun, but are happy to be headed home.
If we weren't camping, then we were at the pool all summer. Our community has a outdoor pool. Elissa takes swim lessons every morning and then Daddy takes them back to the pool in the evening. Some times Mommy would take them in the afternoon. By the end of the summer Elissa was swimming around by herself. She can swim really good underwater, but she doesn't want to learn to crawl stroke.
Zach has NO fear of the water. He jumps to us and goes underwater and just waits for us to bring him back up. He also LOVES the pool. I hope he is able to do swim lessons next summer, but he might be a little young. I don't think I'll be able to keep him out of the pool during Elissa's swim lessons next year. He'll have to hang out in the hot tub. :0)
