Trimming the Tree

Saturday, 11-29-08
The kids were excited to get the tree in the house and to put he ornaments on. Elissa asked about every other minute if it was time yet.

Zach decided that he wanted to help too. I couldn't keep him off the ladder.

Darin is stringing the lights. This has always been the "Dad" job in our family and then Mom would put the ornaments on and then my Dad would put the tinsel on. So it is always Darin's job to put on the lights and the kids and I do the ornaments. I don't put tinsel on anymore. :0)
Now Elissa's up helping....

Elissa putting on some ornaments. I decided to just put on the ornaments that we have gotten since we were married. We got a really nice set for a wedding gift, but I decided to leave them off this year because they are fragile and Elissa broke 2 last year. So most of the ornaments are ones that the kids have gotten. I really want to try and make a log of some sort of the ornaments, when we got them and from whom. Maybe I'll get to that this year. :0)

The kids are playing with our Little People Nativity set. Elissa is telling Zach who all the people are and where they go.
Our beautiful tree!

We don't have a mantle over our fireplace, so we just hang our stockings on the wall. This year we have one up for Nana since she now stays with us on Christmas Eve.

Elissa's "cute" pose.

Zach couldn't help but dance!

The kids have had a long day and are ready for bed.
