A Special Gift from Papa

Thursday, 12-25-08
Papa had been working on a surprise for Zach, really both kids, for a couple of months. He asked what he could make for them and we decided on a train/activity table with storage bins underneath. Previously Papa has painted a wood doll cradle for Lissy and made her a painting for her room and also a 3 canvas train painting for Zach's room. He is very creative! So it was finally time for us to see what Papa had created.
Wow!
I didn't realize at first, but this is a map of our island we live on. How cool is that!It took 2 seconds for the kids to be on the table.Thank you Papa!!We got a stool to put beside it so that Zach can get on and off by himself. It works great. Then the next game they figured out was to get in the boxes and have us close them up while they were in them. They probably did this for at least 10 minutes or so. We had to specifically tell Elissa that she couldn't play this while we were not there. She would put her brother in and leave him there. :0)What a wonderful table Papa made us! The kids are going to get so much use out of it for years to come. Thank you so much!

AWESOME!! My father-in-law has made lots of great things for the girls like doll-houses and babydoll beds. I love that they will be able to pass it down to their own children.

It is really cool. Dad loves making special things for the kids. I hope I can keep the table long enough to pass it down....it is quite big! :0)
