Catching the best wave
and trying not to drown! :-)
Hapuna Beach State Park, Hawaii
(regularly voted one of the prettiest beaches in the world)
The kids (and adults) had the best time today.
We were not sure how they were going to take the rough surf, but they did so great! They would get bowled over and pulled under and then just pop right back up. Elissa did get scared and cried on one wipe out, but she got back out there soon after. They spent about 3 hours playing in the ocean and sand. It was a blast! Darin and I got away for a little bit to do some snorkeling at a big grouping of rocks not far from the beach. You see quite a bit for it not being very far off shore. Today was the best day so far!
Even Nana got into boogie boarding!
We ended the day with the kids staying home with Nana and Darin & I went to The Fairmont Orchid's restaurant, The Beach House. Super yummy food and a nice quiet, romantic atmosphere.
The lobby was filled with real Christmas trees and wreaths and had a wonderful pine smell. It reminded us that it is almost Christmas.
