16 Days til Christmas.........Day 1 in Hawaii

We left Seattle at 6am this morning.....
(This was at 3:30am)

Zach thought everything was magical at the airport! Magic sliding doors that opened when you walked in (we have seen these before, but today they were magical). Seeing all the planes waiting for passengers. He was in awe! He loved taking off. Elissa was a bit afraid.

The plane ride was very, very long. The kids did good, but were definitely restlesss. Zach would not watch movies, play his leapster, color.....anything that I brought him to play with. He just wanted to go to the bathroom (run around) and turn and look at the neighbors. He fell asleep on the short ride to San Francisco, but no sleeping on the long flight. Elissa did really good.

Now we are in Hawaii!
We landed at 1pm Hawaii time. It is so cool because you get to climb down stairs from the side of the plane and walk on the tarmac.

Then where did we go first........Target. :-)

Then Hilo Hattie's for some Aloha wear. We are doing Christmas cards w/a picture from Hawaii, so we wanted it in Aloha wear and needed to take pictures the next day to get our cards sent out. Otherwise we wouldn't have went so soon. :-)

Patty did the oyster opening and it had two pearls!
She made them into beautiful plumeria earrings.

This part of the adventure pretty must put Darin over the edge. We really should have went to the Kona Brewery for pizza and beers before we went to Hilo Hattie's. :-)

The kids spotted their first gecko while waiting for our table.

Then we forgoed going to Costco to stock up and just headed to our house so that we could explore the beach a little before it got dark.

Yeah, my feet are in the ocean!

And the kids got in the ocean.

Our hale sweet hale for two weeks!
